These Editorial Guidelines (“Guidelines”) form part of the QuizRace Acceptable Use Policy. They set out the standard of editorial care expected in relation to quizzes, prompts, media, display names, AI output and material shared beyond a single Game.
1 Accuracy and Sources
1.1 You must check questions, answers and explanations against reliable and current sources, and must distinguish between fact, opinion, parody and uncertainty. For consequential subjects, you must identify the source and date where useful and correct known errors promptly.
2 Audience and Sensitive Subjects
2.1 You must match language, difficulty, imagery and themes to the expected age, culture and setting of the audience. You must not rely on shock, humiliation or stereotypes to create engagement.
2.2 Health, sex, identity, religion, conflict, violence, self-harm, politics and other sensitive topics may be used for legitimate educational purposes only where the content is accurate, proportionate, appropriately introduced and supported. You must not give harmful operational instructions or expose personal experiences without consent.
3 Media, Display Names and Rights
3.1 You must use clear and relevant media. You must not use graphic, sexual, deceptive, flashing or inaccessible material where it could harm or exclude the audience. You must provide text alternatives or spoken context where reasonably possible.
3.2 Display names must not impersonate, harass or sexualise any person, reveal sensitive data, contain slurs or be used to evade moderation. Hosts should use the moderation controls available to them and remove unsuitable display names.
3.3 You may use third-party text, images, audio, trade marks and personalities only where you hold a licence or have another legal basis to do so, and must give attribution where required. You must not imply sponsorship, partnership or official status, misuse Attensi branding, or impersonate any person or Organisation.
4 AI Output and Shared Content
4.1 AI output must be treated as a draft. Before presentation, a competent person must review it for accuracy, bias, audience suitability, confidential information and third-party rights. You must not describe output as human-verified unless it has been so reviewed.
4.2 Content that is shared or published beyond a single Game requires a higher standard of care. You must verify sources, remove unnecessary personal data, confirm permissions, take accessibility and context into account, and keep the content up to date. A shared link may be forwarded to others.
4.3 Disclosure. You must inform the audience where material shown to them has been generated or substantially altered by AI. The disclosure must be given in the Game or alongside the shared content, in a clear and distinguishable manner, no later than the point at which the audience first sees the material. Disclosure is always required for a realistic synthetic depiction of a real person, place or event, and for AI-generated text published for the purpose of informing the public on matters of public interest, unless a named person has reviewed it and holds editorial responsibility for it. You must not remove or obscure any marking applied by QuizRace. A statement in terms of use or a privacy notice does not satisfy this requirement.
5 Illustrative Examples
5.1 The following are examples of content that is usually acceptable: a sourced history question that explains contested interpretations neutrally; an age-appropriate health quiz reviewed by a qualified educator; licensed media with appropriate attribution; and a clearly labelled AI-assisted draft that has been checked by a Host.
5.2 The following are examples of content that is not acceptable: an unsourced medical diagnosis; a quiz inviting Players to rank classmates by attractiveness; graphic violent media used for entertainment with Children; a celebrity image used to imply endorsement; an abusive display name; or unreviewed AI output presented as authoritative.
